Deleting the valve will change the volume and tone of your system but it is not necessary to remove it. The muffler delete will be louder than the muffler by about 25%, it will have a higher tone, it can crackle a bit but that tends to go away if you eliminate the flapper valve.

Yes, the installation process is straightforward. It involves cutting out the existing muffler, installing the new muffler, and securing it with clamps. Welding is optional but can be done if you have the capability or by a muffler shop.
It is important to install the clamps properly for a proper seal, a little high temp silicone inside of the joint will help the sealing process. We have designed the slots in the tubing to exactly match the width of the clamp. Line the clamp up with the slots and tighten extremely tight, preferably with an air powered impact wrench.

This kit fits 2014-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 with the 4.3L V6 or 5.3L V8 and a single exhaust, across all cab and bed configurations.

2019 note: GM built two different body styles that year — the earlier LD/Limited body and the all-new body. This bypass fits the single-exhaust setup on both, but if you have a 2019, double-check your truck's body and exhaust before ordering.

It does not fit dual-exhaust trucks or the 6.2L. For the 6.2L, use this kit.
